Axminster Chamber of Commerce represents the town’s businesses, bonding commerce, industry and retailers in a town that has a backbone built on independent businesses. The Chamber’s activities include Totally Locally Axminster, which has a specific role in driving ‘shop local’ campaigns.
 
Re-launched in 2021, the Chamber maintains a constructive dialogue with local government at all levels on issues that affect businesses. It has also had a key role in the introduction of colourful street banners and maps to the town centre, and community benches to the Minster Green, and is one of the partners in the project that has built a model of the famous old Axminster to Lyme Regis Railway to fill an empty restaurant window. The Chamber runs training initiatives for members and operates an online business directory.
